Over the past day, more than 6,600 new cases of coronavirus infection have been registered in the UK – this is the largest daily increase since the beginning of the epidemic.

According to Ukrinform, reported by The Guardian.

So, according to the country’s Public Health Agency, on September 24, 6,634 people were infected, which is more than the highest rates of the “first wave” of the pandemic in the spring. At the same time, the incidence is growing among all age groups.

England’s medical director, Yvonne Doyle, said the new figure is “a clear warning to everyone,” and there has been an increase in hospital admissions and intensive care patients. She urged people to comply with quarantine measures and download the Agency’s contact tracing app, which was officially launched in England and Wales recently.

The death toll from the virus has increased by 40 people in the country.

As you know, since the beginning of the epidemic, according to the statistics of the Public Health Agency, 41,902 patients have died.

At the same time, the data, which is published separately by the statistical office – where COVID-19 is mentioned in the death certificate – indicates that the real death toll is 57 thousand.

The total number of laboratory confirmed cases of coronavirus in Britain has already reached 416,363.
