Wales announces measures to reduce Covid-19 cases

The Welsh government announced today that restrictions will be imposed on the capital Cardiff and the region’s second largest city, Swansea, to halt the spread of COVID-19.

According to Welsh Health Minister Von Getting, local restrictions mean that residents of these areas will not be able to enter or leave them for no good reason. “They will not be able to meet people they do not live with indoors at the moment,” he said, adding that the restrictions in Swansea and Cardiff would take effect on Sunday night and in the town of Lanelli on Saturday.

“This does not mean that people in Swansea and Cardiff should consider the weekend as a spree,” said Getting. According to him, the authorities will monitor other areas to see if further measures need to be taken.
