He went on an introductory course, contracted coronavirus infection, but no one was shaking his contacts anymore. A student of the Czech Technical University found out that he contracted covid-19 at the event. However, the hygienists did not call him at all and did not shake his contacts. “He’s calling to heaven when they say the system works,” says his mother. In September, the student took one of the courses on the shores of Lake Mácha, where a total of at least 116 people became infected.

The student went to the Mácha region for an adaptation course on Monday, September 7, together with him another 200 students took part in the rapprochement event. The day before returning home, he had already called his mother that he would probably be infected with coronavirus because 17 students had tested positive. His roommate from the cottage also became infected.

Information on the spreading covid-19 on introductory courses at Mácha’s lake brought the iROZHLAS.cz server on Thursday. By infecting at least 116 participants, a new cluster was created, which has not yet been publicly discussed. The director of Liberec hygiene, Vladimír Valenta, stated that he only learned about the events in retrospect.

Students were already aware that they were infected with coronavirus at the cognitive course. “We tested the sample because we didn’t have that many tests. In him, the infection was proven. That’s why we contacted hygiene, but it became overloaded. They told us that people should be removed to voluntary quarantine, “Stanislav Jeřábek, head of the Student Union of the Czech Technical University, told the iROZHLAS.cz server.

Therefore, on Monday, September 14, the student’s mother called the district doctor with a request to ask her son for a test. “He was very uncomfortable because he didn’t understand that I wanted him to put his son on the waiting list for the test. I work in healthcare, but he didn’t even want to expose me to my disability. He told me that I should go to work until my son became infected, “the woman wondered (due to fears about her son’s future at school, she did not want to reveal her identity, the editors know her).

She therefore contacted the Prague hygiene station. “Macha Lake did not interest them at all, they did not ask me any questions. The son learned on Monday that more than forty were infected. They referred me to a sanitary station in Prague 3, because we live there. They immediately told me to expect not to call there. They were right, “describes the mother, who subsequently became infected with coronavirus from her son.

7 hours in line

The district doctor finally wrote his son a request for a test, but the next free date was on September 20. “Since I work in healthcare, I couldn’t wait that long. The son already had a fever and other symptoms. In the end, he found a test site on Tuesday in Wenceslas Square, where he had to take public transport and stand in line from 6.45 am to 1.45 pm, “she explained the situation.

That same night, the student received an SMS message from the laboratory that the test result was positive. However, no one from the hygiene station contacted him subsequently. “Since then, the silence on the path, no one cares where he got infected, who he met, who lives with him. My symptoms started on Wednesday, “said the student’s mother.

The director of the Prague hygienic station, Zdeňka Jágrová, stated in response to a question from the editors that she had to investigate a specific case, but in general Prague hygienists do not have time to trace it. “We have a terrible overhang, we definitely have a slide for five days. I have to look at this case, “she said.

Introductory courses at Mácha’s Lake took place in the first half of September and were attended by up to 1,400 students from several universities. Subsequently, coronavirus infection was detected in at least 116 participants who distributed it throughout the country, according to the iROZHLAS.cz server.
