Israelis cannot leave their homes again

The statistics on the incidence of covid in Israel has recently gone up sharply, and the authorities expect the introduction of quarantine to slow down the further spread of the virus. Since the beginning of the pandemic in Israel, almost 177 thousand people have been infected with the coronavirus, 1169 people have died.

Sharp increase in incidence in Europe

Thursday at Czech Republic recorded a daily record for the number of new cases of Covid-19 – 3130 cases. According to the Ministry of Health, there were no such indicators in the country even in March, when the pandemic in Europe was just beginning. The incidence in the Czech Republic has been steadily growing over the past few days. According to Czech media reports, the Czech Republic came in second in Europe after Spain in terms of the number of new cases per 100 thousand people. At the moment, in the Czech Republic, there are already 44.1 thousand infected since the beginning of the epidemic. At the same time, the mortality rate is one of the most favorable in Europe: 489 people died. Since September 1, the rule of compulsory wearing of masks in public places and in transport is again in effect throughout the country; on September 10, additional restrictions were introduced in cafes, restaurants and entertainment establishments.

In France, there was a sharp deterioration in the epidemiological situation

Nice authorities are discussing the issue of introducing a ban on gatherings with more than 10 people. Earlier, the authorities of Marseille announced such measures. From Monday power France there is a steady increase in the number of new cases of virus infection every day. Dozens of schools have already closed across the country this week. Meanwhile, French unions are calling on people to protest against the French government’s inadequate response to the economic fallout from the pandemic.

Until today, 454.2 thousand people have fallen ill with coronavirus in France, 31.1 thousand have died.

Authorities London are also discussing the possibility of introducing restrictive measures in a number of areas of life in the British capital, in particular, in catering establishments. On Friday, the mayor of Sadiq Khan said he was canceling the New Year’s fireworks display over the Thames. This is traditionally one of the brightest events of the winter holidays, which usually attracts thousands of people.

The last research scientists of Ireland showed that half of the patients who underwent Covid-19, after healing for a long time, suffer from a breakdown. In their opinion, rapid fatigue can be safely called one of the inevitable consequences of the transferred virus, regardless of the severity of the disease.

Alarming situation in Britain

British epidemiologists are concerned about the sharp increase in the number of infected in Britain… According to them, the growth itself was expected with the onset of autumn, but the speed with which it is happening is very worrisome. The Scientific Advisory Group on Emergencies (SAGE for sage) is proposing that the government limit the opening hours of entertainment facilities and restaurants, and possibly introduce a wider lockdown by two weeks, overlapping with English school holidays (week of 26 October ).

Since Monday, the country has a “rule of six”: people who do not live under one roof can gather (even at home) in the amount of no more than six people. Since Friday, in some areas in the north-east of England, additional restrictions began to apply, and in the near future they will apply to three more counties: Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Merseyside, as well as areas in the central Midlands.

However, in addition to these measures, the authorities must urgently establish a testing system for Covid-19, epidemiologists insist. British laboratories do not cope with the processing of the results, the situation is worst in England.

Scientists from Imperial College London presented a new development – a special apparatus for conducting rapid testing, which does not require laboratory data processing. It takes 90 minutes to get test results with it. The machine is about the size of a shoebox and is easy to handle.

At the same time, the new device will not cope with a large array of unprocessed samples, since it can process only one analysis at a time, and no more than 16 per day. At the moment, such devices are used only in eight hospitals in the country. The mass production of the devices will take a long time, which is not available, scientists say.

Anna Netrebko contracted coronavirus as soon as she returned to the stage of the Bolshoi Theater after a lockdown

Russian opera diva Anna Netrebko was hospitalized with a diagnosis of pneumonia, the impetus for which, according to doctors, was a coronavirus infection. Netrebko felt unwell at the beginning of September after participating in the first performance of the season at the Bolshoi Theater – “Don Carlos” by Verdi. Later, another artist of this performance was diagnosed with coronavirus, after which the production was temporarily removed from the repertoire. Netrebko said she does not regret her decision to return to the stage, despite the fact that the situation with the coronavirus is still serious. At times like these, people need culture more than ever, she said. Doctors predict that the singer will quickly recover. After the resumption of performances at the Bolshoi Theater, measures of social distancing are observed, the audience must be wearing masks.

The epicenter of the pandemic in Latin Americaappears to be moving from Brazil to Argentina… Over the past day, the country has recorded a record rate of new infections – 13 thousand. The total number of cases in Argentina exceeded 600 thousand people, more than 12 thousand died.

The country has not yet lifted the lockdown introduced in March, but some reliefs were made in the second half of August. In particular, Argentines can gather in companies of up to 10 people, some restaurants have opened. However, from September 5, a sharp increase in the incidence began again.

At the same time, in the most affected countries of the continent – Brazil and Mexico – the epidemic was brought under control, and in some areas even slowed down. Despite the fact that the statistics of cases in these two countries is higher than in Argentina, Argentina significantly overtakes them in terms of the number of infected per 100 thousand people.
