Minister of Health Maxim Stepanov told how many beds in Ukraine are designed for patients with coronavirus. According to him, their number already exceeds 30 thousand.

The head of the Ministry of Health said this at a briefing on Saturday, September 5.

«Today we have 26,000 beds for the treatment of COVID-19 patients. At the same time we add more hospitals that are included in the treatment process. This is plus 9,000 beds. That is readiness – 35 thousand beds“, – said Stepanov.

He also noted that in the areas most affected by coronavirus, the number of occupied beds exceeds 50 percent. And in Odessa and Chernivtsi regions 65 and 69% respectively.

Stepanov added that the number of beds “can be expanded as much as you want”, but in the end there may simply not be enough doctors.

We will remind, in Ukraine for the last days 2 836 new cases of infection with a coronavirus of COVID-19 were found. This is a new anti-record – the second in a row and the third this week.

It should also be noted that Patriarch Filaret contracted the coronavirus.
