The World Health Organization (WHO) said on Saturday that the rate of infection with the new coronavirus had reached a record high, affecting almost 300,000 people a day. </p><div> <p>In 24 hours, 294,237 people became infected with the coronavirus, but the previous record was on July 31, when the number of infected people increased by 292,000 during the day.
As a result, more than 21 million people have been infected with the new coronavirus since the start of the pandemic, and more than 755,000 people have died.
