27-year-old Ojo died on August 7 right during an individual training session with Partizan. The player became ill while doing running exercises, after being taken to the hospital, he no longer showed signs of life.
At the end of June, Ojo was diagnosed with the coronavirus. Ojo was later diagnosed with pneumonia of the left and right lungs. The player refused to go to the COVID infectious clinic in Belgrade. On August 5, Ojo was admitted to moderate training activity, but the player began to practice even before the medical permission.
Doctors do not recommend vigorous exercise for 3-6 weeks after pneumonia. The president of Crvena Zvezda believes that coronavirus and pneumonia could have provoked Ojo’s heart problems. The investigation into the cause of Ojo’s death continues, and a coronavirus test will be performed upon autopsy.
