COVID-19 Can Cause Stroke in Young People – US Doctors – Health News

Doctors reported that the number of sudden stroke in young patients in New York had increased sevenfold in the last two weeks.

At least one patient has died and the others are in rehab, resuscitation or stroke. Only one patient went home, but would require intensive care.

Most of these patients have no past history and were home with mild symptoms (or in two cases without symptoms) COVID-19,
Said Thomas Oxley, a neurosurgeon at Mount Sinai Medical Complex in New York.

Therefore, Oakley believes that this is further evidence that coronavirus can lead to unnatural blood clotting.

The virus seems to increase coagulation in the large arteries, leading to severe stroke,
Added Oxley.

The doctor added that people of this age are not characterized by strokes. Oxley noted that on average, no more than one patient was admitted to Mount Sinai during the last year in two weeks to the age of 50 (and not always).

Stroke causes serious damage to health if not eliminated immediately. Therefore, immediate medical attention should be sought immediately for stroke symptoms.
