The Ministry of Health says an infected man who returned from the UK on March 11 has failed to comply with the requirement to self-isolate for 14 days and has visited a dentist during that time.
To date, in all cases diagnosed in Lithuania, patients have been infected abroad. The first Covid-19 patient – a resident of Siauliai who was diagnosed with the disease after returning from Italy in late February – has already recovered and left the hospital.
As of Monday, quarantine has been introduced in Lithuania to limit the spread of coronavirus. Lithuanian citizens are forbidden to leave the country except for those working abroad, and most foreigners are not allowed to leave. Most stores are closed except for grocery stores and pharmacies. All public events are prohibited. The flow of people in public transport is restricted and international passenger train traffic is stopped.
